ABOUT US

A Philosophy That Inspires What We Do

In this technologically complex age, people yearn for simple pleasures: acoustic music; a good book; intriguing wine and flavorful cheese .....

We at Bingham Hill Cheese Company have a certain nostalgia and genuine sense of loss, knowing how communities at one time produced small batches of their own bread, beer, chocolate, wine & cheese. That proud tradition of artisanship has been largely unknown to Americans, but the success of microbreweries, bakeries & coffee shops shows a grass-roots embrace of regionally-distinctive products. Artisanal cheese is the next frontier.

WHY ARE WE CALLED BINGHAM HILL?

Bingham Hill is a beautiful landmark Northwest of Fort Collins outside of the town of La Porte Colorado. Located between the Cache la Poudre River and the foothills of the Rocky Mountains a great hill and a fertile valley played an important historical role in shaping our community. Over 150 years ago people settled this area creating one of the first communities in Northern Colorado. They were farmers and trappers migrating to the unexplored western frontier. Their triumphs and hardships are still remembered and celebrated today by historians and local history buffs. We picked this site for our name because much of what we do here at Bingham Hill Cheese Company is exploring and celebrating the old world way of doing things.
